The odds of aliens finding our universe, let alone our planet is highly unlikely.

Galaxies billions of LIGHT YEARS away are seeing earth just forming. They are not seeing humans or animals. So most likely they will skip right past our plant and universe. There are billions upon BILLIONS of galaxies. While I'm not saying we are alone, the chances of finding alien life forms is unlikely to happen anytime soon. They will come to us before we come to them.

Even if humans ever encounter an alien life form it does not necessarily have to have a face, legs, hands, or look anything like us. Most likely the first alien life form we will find is microbial life. (Microbial life has been present on earth way longer than any other form of life).

Most people are unable to think outside the box. Mathematically speaking our planets set of circustances that caused life may have occured at least on several thousand other planets, so life on another planet as we know it is a guarantee. The question is when.......Think about it...there may be a civilization out there with a 500,000 year headstart. Million year head start. Where would we be as a race in 500,000 years? So the likely hood of a space-faring highly evolved race beyond our comprehension and understanding pretty much existing RIGHT in our faces is like the alligator (or other unevolved for thousands of years animals) not realizing our civilation is RIGHT around him.

We think to often that they would be similar to us or in our realm of understanding.... they could be MILLIONS of years ahead of us on a evolutionary scale.

true, but... With thousands of possible earths, the chances of some of those life forms not extinguishing themselves exists. Just because we are on the brink of causing our own demise doesn't mean that every potential Earth in the universe will have lifeforms that are unable to extend their tour of the universe.
For all we know civilization as we know it has already come and gone on our own earth. Who's to say, linearly speaking - that it's not possible some other lifeform in the universe has half a million years of history and knowledge under their belts?

NASA or the goverment DOES NOT WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE so that theyre not RIDICULED??? give me a break....they dont want to ACKNOWLEDGE for fear of the citizens KNOWING the truth. That the US uses alien technology for military purposes.....has anyone wondered why the great leap in technological advance in just the last century?? Dont get me wrong the world is full of smart people but somethings could have taken years to discover.....such as stealth technology. Anyways im sure that we already came into contact with aliens. It is just not "official" who knows when that'll be, with so much hypocracy in this world we'll never know. Interesting post.

^You sound a bit angry Canookdude. Don't be mad that the closest thing Canada has to a space program is watching William Shatner in Star Trek reruns. Canadians have contibuted a lot of great things to the world. Like the canadian guy that invented Trivial Pursuit and the paint roller was created my a Canadian too. I know if must be rough living in the U.S.'s shadow but look on the bright side... I'm at a loss at the moment but I'm sure there must be a brightside to being Canadian.
