but...... take this put it in a real prison and bang you will get SOOOoo many ppl getting shived it just ant right to fuck with inmates in the end this is supposed to make someone reform but what kind of a job can you do if you site there and fuck with ppl like that.

Very funny, and the reporter was just asking to be shived .... although Le Mis is a great show.
Its funny how criminals masculinity isn't strong enough to wear pink and not care. Oh well, what ever works.

Pink close to red = anger? They are two different colors. Pink doesn't bring out anger in anyone except kids who are scared of Care Bears. Its just the Sheriff being funny and having a news story, the color hardly matters. You aren't going to win any fashion awards in jail.

I don't think the color has anything to do with the change in repeat prisoners. If everyone is wearing the same thing and you are forced to wear it - who cares? Its not like anyone is going to think you chose those colors. The pink thing has been done here in Maricopa County and the prisoners were actually selling the pink boxers to outsiders and they ended up online going for some good money. It's nothing more than a way for the Sheriff to get attention. I think the bad food is more likely to stop people from coming back, but it doesn't work either. Stiffer penalties are the solution - not pink clothes.

This has nothing to do with gayness, pink is a calming colour. When cops bring in beligerant assholes looking for a fight, they tend to leave him for about half an hour in what they call a pink-room. It chills them out and relaxes them on a psychological level. Disagree if you want but its a scientifically proven fact.

I think they should do that in all jails. It's obviously a good deterrent for people who repeatedly break the law. They get free room and board, TV, Internet, exercise equipment, and sometimes free schooling, but why should they be able to pick what they can and can't wear?

Violetninja is right. Pink has been proven to calm people down.

Younger kids tend to refer the color pink as "gay" or "a girl's color". I can see it being soothing though. What the hell is wrong light blue then? I think it was more for the purpose of humiliation than soothing violent emotions.

If anything, I thought forcing them in a pink room who piss them off even more. Oh well, if it works, stick with it.

Prisoners aren't meant to have any kind of "freedom" in there. They gave that option up when they've committed a crime.
