and after about a week's regular use, pop ups are virtually eliminated.

PLUS, IE copied the tabs from Firefox, it might look a little more like IE, but it'll never be as safe.

Firefox copied the tabs from Opera, there is no more originality.

I use IE and Firefox both, nothing wrong with either of them. The only time you get problems is if an idiot user clicks on the "You are our 1000th customer!!" buttons.

I work with IE all day on my machine as well as customers machines and I never have any problems.

and the only reason IE has as many exploits is due to its popularity. same with the windows v. *nix war. There arent as many problems with viruses on linux as windows because windows is more popular, when in actuallity, its easier to write exploits for linux due to it being open-source. Just wait for firefox to get a little more popular, you will see exploits coming out all the time.

I'm a computer systems administrator, and what ilovemyherbs said is absolutely true. There is no more originality, and the viruses and exploits that are out there are directly proportional to the software's popularity. If you were going to write a virus, would you write it for 10,000 machines, or 10,000,000? Common, it's not about IE sucking anymore than it is Firefox, it's the results that "matter" to the dudes writing the virus code.

I like many open source software and run my machines on linux, but in my opinion, Firefox is the biggest POS i've ever had to use. I simply cannot understand why their stupid browser needs 913.7MB of memory just to keep a few tabs open. They seriously need to fix their memory leaks. I use IE at work and never run into these kind of problems. If MS made IE for linux, I'd switch to that in a second.
