NOT FAKE. i saw a news story on this. the white house tried to cover this up by putting out a press release that Letterman had digitally added the kid in.
But as it turns out, the Letterman Show did nothing of the sort.

Why did they lie and deny that the kid was there?

Of all the things Bush has done, I'm not worried about him borring a kid to death. But I'm pissed the White House tried to get away with another lie. What won't they lie about?
