he's a pretty good legato player
if you dunno what legato is then you havent progressed in learning guitar much, or you havent learned guitar at all

ehh but thats beside the point
he's still a good hybrid legato-steel guitar player

alrrighty after reading through some of the comments...
a lot of these guys are looking into the shallower part of playing guitar

sure after learning how to play tons of your favorite songs, you'd think you're pretty good. not necessarily

however, the real guitarists learn to make their own music, and that is called music theory--which is a pain to learn and apply

so, to anyone who can compose good music deserves praise and applause

also, tapping is simply a tool in any rock/hard rock/metal guitarist's box-o-tricks
it's not really a trick, but its a different kind of playing

it's called "legato" meaning smooth. so literally, it means playing smooth (as in not striking the strings with your picking hand) legato includes slides, trills, etc. anything that you do without picking the strings

it allows a huge range for hammer ons and pull-offs.
so, to put it simply, 9t2h5 just means 9p2h5

I cant really explain it all here, so look it up if you're an aspiring guitarist

anyway, the guy in the video is ok. though he wont reach the rock/metal-god status of other guitarists simply because of his good legato skills
it's been done before, but he does recreate it very nicely

Ive seen him!! he has long blonde hair, and a red guitar. this guy on here is a lot better tho.

Quite a superior attitude you've got there, zero009, for discussing basic guitar techniques.
No offense.
Also, to learn to play like that, I'm fairly certain that he learned how to play typical rock guitar first. I seriously doubt he bought a guitar and started playing it like a simplified sitar.
I can imagine him playing neoclassical guitar pretty well (think Yngwie or Alexi Laiho).
