tjokc: playing the guitar in the traditional style isn't the only real way to play a guitar, tapping is broadening the range of how to use the instrument. It's making the guitar more versatile and increasing the range of things it can be used for. Tapping has been around for a very long time as it has been utilized in flamenco guitar, so really you're just limiting what you're doing with it.

It's the similar argument to how the inward style of singing that people like to experiment with (Jack Black and Tenacious D recorded an entire song in this style) is considered harmful and therefore isn't taught in conservatories but is still recognized as a legitimate singing technique.

Anybody that's willing to play an instrument in a way less popularly done deserves some credit, and to everyone that says "I can do that" well yes, I'm sure you can, I can do similar things on my bass but until there's a video of you on here from tv doing that (and by doing that I mean doing that technique with your own original composition that isn't just a ripoff) just stfu.

anyways this guy has crazy insane skill, just would've been better if he didnt keep doing the same thing over and over.. 5/5 none the less.
