Hu And The Protestor

Yesterday, when Chinese President Hu Jintao attended an official welcome ceremony on the White House lawn, a Falun Gong protestor, on top of a camera stand, screamed for tolerance of the Falun Gong movement.

Wenyi Wang, 47, apparently gained access with a temporary White House pass and had been cleared by security.

She screamed for Bush to stop Hu persecuting the followers of Falun Gong.

President Bush during his speech, urged president Hu “to allow the Chinese people the freedom to assemble, to speak freely and to worship”.

It seems that freedom of speech is not only an issue for China, Wang was immediately detained by the Secret Service and faces charges of disorderly conduct and intimidating or disrupting foreign officials.

The talks between Bush and Hu were mainly about the trade deficit and the forming of a plan towards resolving the Iran issue. Although Bush pressured Hu, Hu did not formulate any new plans.

Bush said, “We don't agree on everything but we are able to discuss our disagreements in friendship and cooperation.”

I met these Falun Gong protestors in D.C. last summer. Man you should hear the case these poor people have. I usually hate protestors, so when I saw I went over to tell them how they are wrong, but after I learned what they are all about I really sympathize with their plight.

They have made some really great movies about what is going on in China, but they are way too big to post here on spiked.

Please, google: falun gong, falun daffa, chinese communism and find their site.

Now that the national media is talking about this, I hope that the first world will act at last to get those dirty commies out of power.

d2d,

How do you know that their news paper is just bullshit and propaganda? International inspectors are not allowed free access to many sites in China.

Only when international inspectors are allowed free movement in China will I believe that one of the most murderous countries in the history of the world has cleaned its dirty underbelly.

The problem with China, is that they are a communist country that is becoming a capitalist country. This transition will be difficult for most of the Chinese. It will be great for the high ranking communist leaders, who are becoming super rich. After a few decades it will be better. They will continue to get more democratic styles of freedom. But who really wants them to become something like the US? It would have all the bad things about America, multiplied due to the quick economic growth, and wide seperation of the rungs on the economic ladder, and also the massive population that they contain. Imagine trying to pull off any type of social program if they become a full blown democratic capitalist country. The amount of money it would cost, would be more than any other country. Perhaps they should not be a capitalist country.

People...people...China has never been "communist". It's more of a dictatorship. Look up the definition of communism...do you really think everyone in China has equal shares of everything? And I mean EVERYONE...what you have in China is more than a billion people in poverty, and their leaders who are profiting like mad. That's fascism, not communism.

So please...stop saying China is communist, they're not.

Back to the story...what Wang did was completely pointless...i agree with her, but honestly, does she think that Bush gives a shit about oppressed Chinese? NO, he cares about the MONEY!
