We have implemented the new public upload system. Go here to try it out.
Notice the real-time progress of uploads (status bar with information) and on-the-fly dupe checking.
Duplicates are checked for, based on keywords, the moment you type something in, so be sure to use quality, descriptive titles and descriptions when uploading content to avoid posting duplicate articles.
Screenshots will now be auto-made for you, so no more messing with those dreaded things.
Take note:
For a screenshot to be taken, the video must first be encoded on our server, but a generic SpikedHumor screenshot will be used temporarily when a video is in queue to be encoded. Screenshots must still be made for games, although they no longer have to be any specific size - they will be auto-sized as needed.
Also take note of the comment rating system. This is to help cease unacceptable commentary and flame wars.
If you think a comment should be "buried" (not seen by the public), click the red sad face emoticon on the top right of the comment. If you approve of a comment, click the green smiley face emoticon. It's that easy.
If a comment receives enough bad ratings, it will be buried so that the public cannot see it.
We've also revamped the moderation system, so think twice before flaming anyone, doing anything distatsteful, or annoying the admins - you could be banned without notice on the first offense. You have been warned.
Two more things:
- We changed the way time is handled by comments. Instead of the exact time being given, as per when the comment was posted, it will say how long ago it was posted.
- Admins can now be distinguished from regular members by the [blue] color of their name with "[Admin]".
