At 2:58 he was going to say "dumbing it down" and then he realized he was probably facing a very intellectual audience and therefore stumbled upon himself.... Lol I could just imagine him getting owned on common news for pretending to be all powerful and all knowing compared to the audience, you know cause that`s what the evening news does...
Anyway, he probably is right, he`s got more brains than most of those audience members put together...

The audience members are mostly fellow scientist & philosophers there is even a Nobel laureate Steven Weinberg.

This video is from the first Beyond Belief series. Which is a series of talks given by scientist and philosophers about science and religion. It is hosted by The Science Network and videos of all the speakers --of which there are about 25 in each of the 3 series-- are online. here is the link to the full video of Tyson`s talk followed by a panel discussion consisting of Steven Weinberg, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Lawrence Krauss, Sam Harris, & Michael Schemer.
