^I installed windows 7, but when I found out it didn`t run a bunch of my programs I went back to XP. I think XP will stay the dominant operating system for a few more years.

But I`m sure most users wont have this issue and will enjoy windows 7.

^ Did you try the Windows XP mode? You still run Windows 7 but basically use a Windows XP emulator via Virtual PC.

^^ Windows 7 has been fine for me. I didn`t expect to like it, but I`ve had no real problems with it. I never really used Vista, so I don`t have personal experience with the Vista problems so many people had. The BIG advantage of using the Windows 7 pre-release is that there`s absolutely NO bullshit to remove after install. No Norton, no Quicken, no HP/Dell/Toshiba add-ons... that was sweet.

The retail version of W7 does not include that crap as well. The included software you are talking about only comes on specialized windows installation from manufacturers such as Dell, HP, etc. If you purchase a copy of any windows, there will be no such software.
