This is a famous flight safety case...the pilot was pretty much a loose cannon with no one to reign him in. He`d do little things like park in the CO`s parking space. Then when he`d get away with it, he`d push a little further...and a little farther.

There was a point where no one wanted to fly as his crew because of the dangerous shit he would pull. One gentleman (who I believe died in the video) wouldn`t let his people fly with him, unless he was on the flight as well.

The flight path, just before impact, took the aircraft over where the Air Force SERE school is located today.

The crash comes down to basic physics...the wing needs to be horizontal to generate lift. The further you deviate (and you usually don`t go beyond 30 degrees), the less lift is generated. You take an aircraft like this, tilt it 90 gdegrees and it`ll drop like a stone...no matter how much thrust you try to put into the engines.
