um, used to live in Japan on Misawa AB. The Japanese people I encountered love the American presence. The only place I know of in Japan that generally does not like the American presence are Okinawans because of the of the marines.

Japanese women were raped and that`s why they are pissed. The US military has a long history of covering up or not disciplining staff when it comes to accusations of rape or sexual abuses. Not only are there rape accusations but the US military wants to expand the base, taking away land from the native people. Could you not imagine how fucked up this is if some foreign military occupation was encroaching upon where you lived?

Listen please, first off all I agree with leysin the U.S. Military has a history of covering up or ignoring cases of servicemen raping japaneses women. In fact one thing they dont tell you in U.S. history is that during WW2 many american troops raped native french women. And thats something no one forgets alright. No one forgets a humiliation like that. So shut those damn bases and save money. Finally I understand these videos are interesting and they bring up valid topics. These types of videos are what makes spiked humor better then any of the myriad of video collection sites out there.

If you want to watch a funny video click on a funny video, no one forced you to watch this video, I know you are so angry now that you have been tricked into learning something but maybe, just maybe, that was a good thing.

As to the video, we really need to get the hell out of a lot of countries. We still have troops in Germany, South Korea, and Japan.

I lived near a base in the Tokyo area and I was often treated less favorably than other people because of the assumption I was an American. anywhere there are foreign bases in any country there is going to be animosity. I don`t believe that the attitude of many of the soldiers helps either. I once overheard some military guys on the train loudly talking about how the Americans could easily take over Japan any time they want and make it the latest US state.

Maybe if Japan hadn`t been retarded back during WW2 and decided not to surrender till the very last moment then we wouldn`t need to keep troops there. Sure, there`s several generations since then but you know how many lives were lost taking okinawa?

Yah, my ass that we will be leaving any time soon. Japan doesn`t even have a military any more so they should be thankful we are there to protect them from any agressions from N.korea. S.korea isn`t enough of an umbrella to protect them.

^Japan has kept every part of it`s surrender to the US since WW2. including not building a standing army. American forces have exploited this fact as an excuse to keep military bases on Japanese soil for "protection"

Japan has the JSDF which was set up for defence of Japanese soil only. JSDF forces cannot be deployed to other nations. Japan does not need American bases, and I hope that an agreement can be reached to finally remove the American presence from the country.
