Wow that was amazing. I`ve only seen the the free diving with fins, weights, or sleds and air bags before. I`ve heard of this type before, but have never seen anyone come close to that depth.
There`s actually about 10 different types of free diving. Wiki it if you`re interested in checking out this amazing sport.

Either he`s wearing weights or he`s in really salty water cuz he sinks without really using much effort and his lungs are fully expanded...

Either way.. it makes it harder from him to resurface... so nice work!

Yeah 85 meters would be 8.5 atmospheres of pressure. And the aircells in the neoprene suit sink after a certain depth causing the diver to be neutral of negitivley buoyant, depending on how much lead weight they wear. They wear enough to dive easily, yet not enough that makes accsending difficult.

he must be wearing nose plugs right? cuz if he wasnt he would have 8.5 atmospheres of water in his head?

\/ yes but it would be increasingly harder to equalize the pressure as he goes down and i dont know if you want to use that much energy with your diaphragm when your doing the dive.

not if you countered the pressure without outward pressure (blowing)?

but he did appear to have a nose plug.

tweep0: im pretty sure more salt makes you more buoyant.

From Wiki - Dead Sea
The salt concentration of the Dead Sea fluctuates around 31.5%. This is unusually high and results in a nominal density of 1.24 kg/L. Anyone can easily float in the Dead Sea because of natural buoyancy. In this respect the Dead Sea is similar to the Great Salt Lake in Utah in the United States.

"Either he`s wearing weights or he`s in really salty water cuz he sinks without really using much effort and his lungs are fully expanded..."

Wrong! the more salty the water is - the harder it is to dive.

Holy Fuck.
I`ve dived to 30meters deep in Seattle with a regular aluminum 80? I think it was, either 25 or 30 lbs on my lead belt. But that was breathtaking.
There`s a vastness that kinda takes your breath away when you look out and feel that you could swim halfway around the world before you`d hit another barrier.
