I cannot imagine what it would have been like to sit in that audience. I think I might have thrown up trying to restrain myself from speaking back.

most religions teach that life can be viewed in two perspectives, good and evil, right and wrong, black and white.
we all know nothing is that simple.

that is only the reason why religion survives, its simplicity.

especially for all the fucking morons that believe in such superstitions.

Isn`t this video doing the exact same thing neo-christian bible thumpers do? I`m all for making a point, correcting someone when they`re wrong, or revealing things that one might have missed, but this video has all the arrogance and offensive nature of the activist christians we see today. Sure it`s got scientific fact, logical explanation, and great deal of thoughtful counter arguments, but did they really have to convey it in the way they did?

^ Yes. Too long have the scientific community bowed to religious oppression. It`s time to fight back, and history has shown being polite doesn`t get us very far.

^Yep,

Religion should get no special treatment. It should be open to ridicule just like politics or favorite sports teams and movies.

When I said what I said earlier, I didn`t mean "Hey, you can`t say things like that; it`s wrong and you`ll hurt someone`s feelings". When I said what I said earlier, I meant that the hardcore Christians have used this method before, and look where it`s gotten them: All it`s done is turned people off. If you didn`t think politeness got the message across, do you think insulting people would do any better? If so, the force is strong with you.

Creationist response to this video = "What? I didn`t even bother watching it..."

People with an IQ over 130 and a general understanding of society and cultural beliefs = "You people are so fucking childish."

Why should I believe in evolution when no one still knows where life originates from? It`s funny that some people actually believe that life arose from non-living matter when they don`t even know the details of its process. If one can give me with an answer, I might start believing in evolution of life.

Facts in science is what faith in religion is. I believe in science as I believe in my faith. I believe that science and religion can co-exist. It`s just that there are still small details in science like origins that need to be understand first. So, if evolutions is a fact, what comes before it? If we`re descendants of apes, what comes before them? How does life arose in earth? What is the fact of Origin of Life?

Hey Chyros,

You should do a little research, as your paragraph shows that you need some very basic grounding in what evolution is, and what it isn`t.

"Why should I believe in evolution when no one still knows where life originates from?"

- Well, because evolution is supported by so much science, in so many fields, that we know it happens. Do you follow that logic in everyday life? Do you study physics before you get into a car or an airplane? Do you crack open a chemistry book to understand the basics before taking medicine? I think not.
Evolution is supported whether or not we can prove what started the process.

However, the best answer to the origin of life is called Abiogenesis. It is relatively young for a science, but is already proving to be a very likely explanation for the formation of life.
If you don`t mind a little technical reading I highly recommend googling it and seeing all the cool experiments being done.

Remember, evolution is not the same as abiogenesis. Its important.

"Facts in science is what faith in religion is"

- No. Facts are supported by evidence, can be tested, and are challenged continuously to see if they still hold true. Faith is, by definition, belief without proof.

"I believe in science as I believe in my faith"

- You are welcome to...but that doesn`t equate the two in the real world. Just for you.

" I believe that science and religion can co-exist."

- Of course they can (look up Ken Miller for example). Its young earth creationism and reading ancient books literally that can`t coexist with science.

"If we`re descendants of apes, what comes before them"
-Proto-apes. This is all very well documented and easy to find online (try philogenetic tree), or you could read Dawkin`s brilliant "The Ancestor`s Tale".

If you are honest in your curiosity, you should have a great experience researching all this.

Also, I suggest this fantastic article (http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/evolution-fact.html) for anyone who wants to know why we can say Evolution is a fact.

Happy Reading all.

Hi LeighCedar,

Thanks for your lengthy post. I started to scratch the surface of evolution facts. If you can give me a good source for starters to read that will be much appreciated.

Though I believe in science, there are still scope that science doesn`t cover. Miracles, aliens, witchcraft, supernatural beings, ghosts and other intangible things can`t be studied by science. One may ask why do I believe in those? Because of my past experiences towards them (except aliens).

As far as I`ve read so far, I can say that evidence that intelligent creator`s presence still far out weighs "so-called proof" of its absence. People who posts articles/videos on internet that says about evidence of evolution that are irrefutable yet they tend to use the words "possibilities", "must have gotten...", etc...

There are things that can be proved by science that may result in evolution. MtDNA, ERVs, and Chromosomes Fusion yet no one really saw the process with their very own eyes. These are still possibilities that have occured but yet no one actually see it.

Evolutionists says that Neanderthals are not in Bible yet they are discovered. Well, there are things that God doesn`t tell us in the Bible. And these things might be one of them. In the Bible, it says that earth has been made within 7 days and human were created on the sixth day. Evolutionists take these "days" as literals. Calendar wasn`t made at the beginning of the day. And these "day" might be span of thousands of years. So Neanderthals like other creatures such as dinosaurs might lived and got extinct before the 6th day.

There are many religions yet they contradict each other. Much like in science, there are possibilities how humans have evolved yet they contradict each other.

My take? I`m still thinking that since no one has seen the details how human evolved, I can say that Neanderthals lived and got extinct just like other creatures such as dinosaurs. And God created humans thousands of years after it. What we see is just "close image" yet no actual evolution have happened.
