erm think i need to point this out

1st 15 secs looks absolutly different from the rest of the clip

i reckon it wont look that much diff and alot of ppl are gonna get suckered into thinking this game will be like the first 15secs of this clip.

This is just crytek 1 engine watered down but tweaked and modified for the 360 . You couldnt even run crysis 2 on the ps3! how can crytek 2 be more advanced? since its no longer exclusis to the pc due to piracy this is gonna be solely a console port to the pc :( any opinions?

First, Crytek 1 engine was with the game FarCry. Second, Crysis 2 is not out yet, but as you can see their engine is being optimized for ps3 and x360. Therefore, it will be able to run on consoles. IMO, Crysis 2 will probably look just as good as Crysis, but not much better. They will be sacrificing large outdoor fighting for corridor shooting, so it won`t tax the consoles.

Also, notice the first beautiful outdoor scenes aren`t labeled as a ps3 or x360. You won`t be seeing locations that spectacular in #2.

They won`t retard the engine for consoles lol. Stop panicking. It`s really not that hard for them to lock out settings in the engine that the consoles won`t handle. Crytek have been the benchmarkers for quality in real-time gaming for a long time now and this is only ever achievable through a PC, even when console generations are brand new.

As for Crysis 2, it will have huge open areas. FarCry, Crysis, and Warhead share fame with this. They don`t literally make one version of the game to span across all platforms. There are changes and tweaks between all of them that allow optimal performance for which ever machine they`ll be on.

The engine has settings. Parts of it can be enabled and disabled. It`s not, "Here`s what you get now everyone do your best to render it." They will continue throwing hammerblows until the day another comapny can take their niche.

Graphics dont look too good. Crysis had much better graphics than this . Thats the price they pay for making this multi-platform. They can never go beyond a limit coz the stupid consoles cant handle it.
