I think that this piece reflects the nature of the male homo sapien sapien`s mating ritual. It shows the alpha male`s endless quest to woo the female with a mating dance and song. The female becomes an obsession to the male leading the male to stalk to female in an effort to learn more about her. The cost/ benefit analysis of stalking the female often leads the male to restrain himself, but in this case it has benefited the male as it lead him to rescue the female from a potentially dangerous situation, thus improving his chances to mate. A wise move on his part. The female`s reluctance to mate is a testament to her commitment to bearing healthy and intelligent offspring. She will weed out those who are unfit with conversation and evaluating intention, yet every so often a male who may be deemed unfit by the general standard, may display characteristics which supersede those the female initially looked for.
