Yeah, they won`t be any less broken, but he was obviously trying to calm a child down. He did exactly what he should have done. But his comment about funniest home videos was what probably caused the whole thing.

God Damnit! I hate negative publicity for my sport!
This is called Powered PARACHUTING not Powered Paragliding, you can get a licence for a powered parachute in one evening, any idiot that can push left and right on the foot pedals and has opposable thumbs can fly one. Powered Paragliding is a much lighter aircraft, you can actually carry it around and fit it into the trunk of your car, it requires alot more training and meteoroligical knowledge as well as emergency procedure training. There are also alot of rules in place for light ultralight aircraft like this - one of the biggies is not to fly over crowded or densely populated areas. Pilot has a lack of judgement or there was a unfortunate engine failure which is why you don`t fly over croded areas...in case the engine fails or you happen to be an idiot.

Paragliding is not the safest sport out there and powered parachuting is much safer - but even so if you are an idiot this will happen.

Mods if you are reading this please change the title to powered PARACHUTING, this puts paragliding in a negative light when its not even being depicted.
