^You are right, you don`t know...
And, in their defence, theatre is all about making you believe the scene, it`s made from the relationship between the audience and the actors/stage, so a loud cellphone ruins it for everyone... there`s no play if the audience is distracted.

It seems very unprofessional to not just keep the play going. I`m sure the person would of hopefully turned it off as fast as possible but once they just stood there and waited it was a death sentence to get the phone.
