Often people can be dicks to homeless people. However, I understand why not everyone gives money to every person with a sign saying `money plz`.

The real problem is distinguishing between people that will do something good with your money, like buy them some food or shelter, and people that just piss it away by spending it on booze and drugs. The problem isn`t really that they buy drugs with your change, it`s that it doesn`t make them happy. Sometimes I ask `Are you gonna buy heroin with this money? Honestly, I don`t care, just have a good time.` What annoys me that the people that probably Are going to buy drugs (they all say `no`) act like freaking zombies, not even listening to anything beyond `sure, i can spare some change.`

All I want with my change is to make someone happy, and those burnt-out zombie-like hobos just lost the ability to have any complex thought like being happy with a baloney sandwich. I always feel like I thrown my money away.

Luckily there are also quite a lot of people asking for change that act like people when they receive it, and actually enjoy the burger or beer or whatever they buy. And giving money to beggars is always a bit random. A few months back I gave some homeless guy some change, just because he looked like Christopher Walken. And Christopher Walken is Awesome. And as good a reason as anything to give someone some change, if you ask me.

Summary: Giving money to people asking for change can be fun for both sides, but giving it to junkies really isn`t fun for neither. Also, always give money to homeless people looking like Christopher Walken.

i dont feel sorry for homeless in privileged countries, because theirs always opportunities in them. I do feel bad for 3rd world countries, because often there is no choice.

What phone? Camera was pretty good. Pretty touching video, homelessness seems like a burden to the working class, but its just devastating to those who are without a home. However in most cases its their fault, but there are those who just got fucked by the world.

Don`t feel bad for the homeless in America. The good ones make $15 an hour, most make around $10 an hour.

Sort of unrelated, but I remember in high school hearing about some guys who spent the weekend beating homeless people and one was actually killed. I remember the sick feeling from just hearing about it. Luckily they were caught and punished, but I still feel sick thinking about it. Someone in a horrible situation, and still minding their own business, and some fucking punks come kill you for it.

I don`t feel bad when I walk past the homeless and don`t give any money, I don`t have any money to give. Give what you can though. A smile and a hello is good enough for the day.

Good stuff! Lets face it, not one of us really knows the circumstances which resulted in each of these people living on the street. Life can turn on a dime and so can your good fortune. Treat them like human beings or at the very least nod hello. Try to picture your self in their shoes, because they come from every walk of life. It may be you one day!

If you really think a homeless person is going to spend your change on alcohol, give him a beer instead. This Thanksgiving instead of going out and giving them shitty sack lunches, how about passing out little airplane sized bottles of whiskey, perfect for a cold winter night. Always share your cigarettes with them. What`s your change gonna do, help them get a home?
