The land flowing with milk and honey is only flowing with blood and tears.

What really got me was the woman`s response about returning to Auschwitz.

Firstly, Auschwitz doesn`t exist as a working facility. Secondly, the Nazi government that ran it doesn`t exist anymore. Thirdly, the policies used by the non-existent government for the non-functioning camp don`t exist any longer.

So no, we`re not asking you to return to Auschwitz.

We`re telling you to -LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE-. We`re asking you to return to places like modern Germany. You know. Where there`s plenty of living space and water. Where there`s lovely forests, great food, and is very peaceful.

There`s PLENTY of other places that aren`t barren shitholes.

Militant responses with terror is NEVER acceptable and deserve to be treated like criminals.

However, on the question of occupied land: let`s to a little thought experiment.

Mexico decides to snatch some land in Texas. It`s only a small strip of land. But citizens immediately knock down American`s homes, evict the occupants through forced relocation, and build their own homes their. Soldiers move in and protect the Mexicans. The US citizens are treated like invaders in their own land and are now jeered and pushed around by the Mexicans. The resources like water and electricity are protected for new Mexican homes, who now walk around with impunity, but is regularly interrupted in the remaining US homes or cease entirely.

As a US citizen, are you angry?

Gimli, your example is fucked up. To equate to the Middle East, you would have to have the US attack Mexico.

The West Bank was seized after the war in 67, where basically all of Israel`s neighbours decided to have a go from three sides...and promptly had their asses handed to them. As the UN views the situation, the lands are "occupied" because Israel can`t make a legal claim to land seized during a defensive action.

The first lesson: Don`t expect to get your land back when you lose a war that you start.

The second lesson: Don`t expect rational thought from anyone involved in this whole mess.

Gimli, it`s a nice analogy but you can`t ignore the history of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. It`s a complicated tale and a sad one to be sure.

No, the settlements are not helping, but let`s not ignore all that the Palestinians, terrorist groups, other Arab countries, and the United Nations have done to not help either.

Actually Gimli this actually already has happened in reverse between the US and Mexico. Before the Mexican American war a group of white settlers who were living in Texas legally got pissed off at the Mexican government because they were being treated unfairly. The settlers took over part of Texas then went to the US government and got them to annex that part of Texas.
This set off the Mexican American war and when the war was over the US owned California, Arizona, New Mexico and all of Texas.

I say that everyone in the world over 12 is given an automatic gun. Every nation gets a couple dozen of nukes. Then we`ll see what happens.


On another note, the little girl at 5:49 breaks my heart. She looks to be about 6 or 7 and she`s all smiles. She`s just happy to be alive and probably has no idea about the shit storm she was born into and has no control of it. It`s really depressing because that smile probably won`t last for long. Humans are so damn depressing. People fight about shit that happened decades, shit that happened before they were born and just keeping passing it on.
