Wtf is he talking about. I`m canadian and I never even heard anyone, not one freakin soul, says they wanted the health system to be abolished. NEVER.

Pulling numbers out of his ass.

exactly what i thought, i`am not canadian but reside in another country he mentioned & while people may complain that it could be better, no-one is saying let the free-market handle it.

the American system works but only if you already have good-health & keep paying but hardly ever use it, or need it & have money (ALOT) to pay the bills.

I am in Australia and ive never heard of anyone wanting to ablolish our public health system.
we have the option to go with private insurance, but from what ive seen and experienced its not worth it.

I can`t believe this rat bastard is right about anything. She wanted to finish that sentance with "shmuck" and I wish she had. Nobody goes to america for treatment, unless they are conjoined twins from india who`s op is bankroled for publicity. that statement is 76.4% accurate.

"There is not a single person in this country that cannot be treated because of their inability to pay."

This is half true. I was treated and then sent a bill for $1,300.

I`m waiting for it to be sent to a collection agency any day now. They`ll treat ya`, then hound you for money. Heaven forbid I actually need a ride in an ambulance or set a broken bone.

Then I`m really fucked for the rest of my life.

One thing I haven`t really heard mentioned yet is why things like medicare do so poorly compared to their insurance counter parts. The news, especailly fox, just says "government can`t govern", but i`d imagine if you took a closer look it would have quite alot to do with the way insurance companies operate:

Insurance is like a reverse lottery. The vast majority of people will pay less for their own healthcare over the span in which they are covered by said care, then they will for the insurance to cover it. But you aren`t insured for your entire life, and much of that is by design. The older you get, the more certain it becomes that you`re going to need doctors. It also becomes more certain that you wont be able to work, and your healthcare premiums? Well those are going to go up. Because the longer you live the more certain it becomes you`ll need all the money you`ve been putting into your insurance, and they don`t like that. The system is set up to take older people and push them into medicare once they`ve been bled of the most profitable years of their life.

If you pass a public option, do you think it will hurt the insurance companies? All they will do is change their pay plan to drastically lower costs for all the ultra-low risk people, while forcing people who are moderate to high risk into the public package. The insurance companies will continue to profit, make themselves look even more efficient, and make it look like the government is sinking its own program...when the truth is all they are doing is covering people who NEED health care while insurance companies profit off the people who will likely not need drastic care until well into their medicare years, when the bill is no longer on the companies dime.

YEAH THE INSURANCE COMPANYS ARE GREAT...
---------------------------------------------
We speak with Hilda Sarkisyan, the mother of Nataline Sarkisyan, who died two years ago at the age of seventeen after the insurance giant CIGNA denied her claim for a liver transplant Ultimately, in the last hours, the decision came down, but they only reversed themselves after massive national public protest. It was reversed, but she died at the age of seventeen.

You all think that profit seeking private insurance companies are to blame because you watch too much shit like this. Its the excessive government intervention and regulation that ALREADY EXISTS that is to blame. Look at cosmetic surgery, where there is no government intervention; prices for lasic eye surgery and breast augmentation and hair transplant have either stayed the same or dropped while our non-free-market health insurance system sees increases as high as 15% a year. you think that`s by chance? or super natural? Does no one wonder why health care is the ONLY industry that doesn`t see prices fall as technology increases? CT scans where developed in the 70`s yet in some places you wait 2 weeks and pay a grand to get one. you couldn`t sell a TV form the 70`s if you wanted too.

I`m a cancer "survivor" too (until I die).

Early detection? Sorry, she`s wrong. The socialists won`t admit that the USA has some of the best cancer survival rates in the world...precisely because of our excellent record of early detection. DUH!!! Ironically, all this early screening inevitably contributes to higher cost, though it`s for a good reason. (Money saved by prevention is less than the amount spent on screening...but I can live with that.)

Here`s the balance...Hannity is wrong that poor people could get the same level of healthcare that I am fortunate to be receiving, due to excellent employee benefits that I had before my dignosis. I`m paying through the ass for it, but it`s covered 100% of my ass too! I`m in good hands with excellent access to great doctors, technology and research.

Take care of the needy, Mr. President...but don`t fuck it up for the rest of us.

I ended up having to go to an emergency room, end up getting a bill for 500 bucks cus it`s not the right emergency room... We are paying for the best ppo avail from my wife`s work and we have to call them to ask for a partnered emergency room before we have an emergency...

This whole debate is bullshit. They can fuck your credit for bills the Insurance should cover, but they can twiddle their thumbs forever until you take a vacation day to deal w/ the mess.
My grandmother who has healthcare for life via the army, is talking about going to Germany for a procedure. What the fuck is this guy talking about.

I`m a cancer survivor and I`m sorry but the only way you`ll get good health care is if you move to Canada or France. But if you don`t have insurance you might as well give up and die hear in America, but even then they have insurance people behind the scenes that will deny you coverage just bc they wanna earn profits & not to save lives. And Hannity spews lies. I had to fight with my insurance company for years to cover certain tests and important surgeries that I needed to survive. And when I finally got the surgery I would receive a letter attached along with a bill saying that the surgery that I needed to save my life was experimental. It was removing my lymph nodes all along the left side of my body. They removed them to see if the cancer had spread. Private insurance companies only want to improve profit margins not save lives so if they feel the need they will just deny coverage. Without any reason other than not wanting to pay for it. Of course you have the right to request a meeting with the board of doctors who work for the insurance company and they`ll review your case and still deny you coverage. I had that happen to me twice. & Now that they`re proposing a Public Option private insurance companies are shitting themselves. Because they think why would anyone pay for health care when you can get it free. I`m sorry but health reform is needed. All people deserve the right to live. All people deserve the right to get help if they`re sick. I mean except for pedophiles rapists and murderers. But guess what they do get free health care. And we pay for it as taxpayers.
