Maybe you can come visit here in soviet communist europe and borrow some free healthcare.
Maybe the republicans will realise they were wrong when they start getting old enough to have health concerns, and then realise they can`t afford private health insurance because they lost all their money to endless debt caused by a dying housing market... which was in such a state because of their own federal reserve.

had sooo many friends go from never voting to "voting for change" and then tried to explain how that was naive as hell and that it wasn`t gonna happen and they were just getting swept into a gimmick to win them votes not change for the better.

in order to get elected you have to lie lie lie lie lie, you have to be able to say you`ll do 10,000 things when you know that you CAN`T do even 100 things.

our government system works quite well for 1 thing though, with the general lack of knowledge of it`s working a good 70% of people will blame pretty much everything on the president regardless of whether he has a hand in it or not, which diffuses the anger twords the system and directs it twords a person then the person angry doesn`t try and set up a revolution squad he just decides to vote differently next election. in that respect the president is a scapegoat that works to keep any revolutions from happening.

if we can`t change one fraction of the system, how in god`s name are we gonna change the system itself?.

& if the system does get changed for campaign funding why would member`s of the public actually finance these guys since were not OBVIOUSLY getting anything in return?.

especially considering that few in America actually turn out to vote anyway, except during the previous election.

I think my own naivete has more to do with this crazy idea that we could get Republicans to work together to get a problem fixed.

Instead I see more rampant fear-mongering and lies then ever before. Instead of focusing on trying to help our fellow Americans they make blatant lies about death panels. Instead of fighting against abusive insurance corporations millions are convinced to bow before its "magnanimous benevolence".

I was naive enough to think that people could see the benefits of all the infrastructure our government and government employees provide.

Instead I see people so comfortable with the system that they rail against it. I was naive enough to assume that people wouldn`t have to lose everything in order to appreciate it.

Silly, silly, stupid, short-sighted humans. Can`t help but gather up in their little tribal bands and shout insults to the other side. Opportunity comes to make amends and it`s all shit upon.

Once again, I really like this guy, though the topic was pretty sad. Hope he`s wrong but I suspect he`s right.

This guy seems more credible than just about any TV talking head I`ve ever seen. A little goofy, but somehow very trustworthy.

Lobbyists should be hung from lamp posts, and not in a metaphorical sense. I mean, actually left to rot while crows pick at them.
