How about this, let people choose how much they want to pay in taxes into the system to get universal coverage or not. In the mean time, abolish medicare and medicate. So that there is no double paying into the system. The people who want universal health care coverage could pay more taxes, while the ones that don`t want universal health care pay less taxes and can get their own private medical care.

Flynn the whole point of those 2 systems is to provide health care to people who are retired. Since they aren`t working they can`t pay the normal load of taxes anyway.

The United States is full of a bunch of fucking ignorant retards that have no idea what is going on this green earth. Universal health care is the standard on this planet, and should not be something to be sold. You could convince Americans to run off a cliff by telling them that the people telling them not to are trying to take away their freedom of choice. If you substitute taxes with "insurance premiums" you just proposed Obama`s public option that`s in his health care reform plan.

those who want government insurance coverage for medical care get it. those who don`t get private insurance.

sad how the US is one of the wealthiest nations yet the health care system isn`t anything to brag about. well, i guess we`re in the top 50% of countries in terms of health care...isn`t that something to celebrate about.

anyone know or can suggest a good source to find out how much the estimate "cost" of the gov-run option is to each household? or is that tbd? haven`t been keeping up.
