G-This: The deficit has tripled since Obama came in...and the trillion for healthcare hasn`t even been added yet. But that`s no excuse for the Republicans...both parties are living in glass houses when it comes to spending these days.

yea the deficit has tripled, but that thing was going to triple anyway b/c of a long history of overspending, reckless wall street behavior,

if it wasn`t for obama`s actions (and yes george w. bush at the end), we would be hands down in the great depression instead of the "smaller" depression we are in now.

but we need to healthcare reform even if the short run`s cost going to be a b-tch. The reason why we`re doing healthcare reform is

1. we pay more than any other country yet we have subpar healthcare compared to others
2. if we DON`T do it, it`s going to consume far far far more than what it will cost if we take care of it now (it`ll go up to 25% of the GDP, think about that 1/4 of what you pay for taxes going straight into health care)
3. alot more people getting old than as was calculated
