War Walks: The Somme (3/3)

Part Three. "The Battle of the Somme was fought from 1 July to 18 November 1916 and was among the largest battles of the First World War. With more than 1.5 million casualties, it is also one of the bloodiest military operations recorded. In the TV Series War Walks, renowned military historian Richard Holmes explored some of the most intriguing battlefields, vividly recreating the atmosphere of their bloody history."

Not a huge fan of the presenter. John and Dan Snow`s Battlefield Britain and 20th Century Battlefields is better presented and with more visuals.

P.S. What was the white tape for? He never actually explained it.

^Newsface and Son are not historians. Their analysis of individual battles was very detailed, with little else besides.
