In part 2 of author Pete Brewton`s interview he tells the story of a little Washington DC bank called The Palmer Bank. Started by a republican political operative with money provided by a mafia connected financier. They went on to bankroll an number of political campaigns and organizations, funnel money to the Contras and was involved with the Iran arms deals. While it isn`t really part of the Savings & Loan involves a lot of the same people.
