I`m once again against the grain. I was sooo disappointed of that movie...

It`s like one of the best premises and original idea I`ve seen; but written by a fucking 12 years old... It`s just ridiculous!

Where did Peter Jackson passed from "Lord Of The Ring" to "Sesame Street"!?

The CGI is breathtaking, but FUCK that men can`t act for SHIT!
And there`s so much stupid shit all the time, u`r in the theater and go WTF just happen!? And don`t you compare that movie with Terminator!! James Cameron is a god, and should of took the direction of that movie :P

PS:FUCK I HATE Sharlto Copley -.-"

fryser you`re entitled to your opinion but I loved this movie and I love Neil Blomkamp`s work.

If you`re interested in James Cameron (who is awesome by the way) check out his new movie "Avatar", not to be mistaken for the live action movie based off of the anime.

for a movie on a 30m budget, i loved it. beats lots of over rated movies on an over rated budget. just goes to show what can be achieved when u aint got money whoring fuck faces of actors in there. ps critics can kiss my ass. critics can enjoy yer free critic play toy dildos u get for biatching. hmmm how can this movie be over rated as nearly no cunt heard of it till it was out..... hear is a good saying. the more its advertised the more its a shit sandwich. a good movie dont need corp adverts as its spread by word of mouth. trust me. its a good film. critics just cant go a day without the corp ky jelly.

i love how the guy starts off like borat then turns into a hardcore rambo type as the movie goes on. am sure it would be true of many of us in his boots.

I really really liked District 9.
And I`m surprised because my growing dislike for Peter Jackson was the one thing preventing me from going and seeing it.

But my nephew was all "BUT I WANNA SEE IT" so he won that argument.

I was far more entertained and absorbed than say... when I was watching Transformers II.
Lousy example, I know (comparing the two is unfair) but this year has been giving me let down after let down. District 9 is pretty refreshing.

I`m not understanding fryser_d`s hate for Sharlto Copley.
*shrugs*
I feel he did a pretty decent job + managed to resemble Christian Bale.. which is pretty amazing.

District 9 brought my old school love for Peter Jackson back - the same way *Drag Me to Hell* made me remember my appreciation for Sam Raimi.
OH HE`S INVOLVED IN SPIDER-MAN 4?
NEVER MIND FUCK YOU RAIMI.

Dude, District 9 was awesome.

I thought the plot for the movie was very creative and enjoyed the movie.

The part I didn`t get tho was how the aliens got all their weapons into the refugee camps...I mean, those guns were pretty big. Kinda hard to sneak stuff through security. Or when they showed that big giant walking robot thing. How the hell do you get that off the mother ship without people noticing?? Unless of course the humans didn`t mind them taking this stuff with them. But it was never explained or maybe I just missed it.

Great movie still.

The best part of this movie, and I think the most frustrating for some, is the fact that it didn`t give us all the answers.
That is a good thing. Mystery and Imagination are still a good thing. I loved this movie, from the fact that it wasn`t filmed anywhere near North America to the fact that it was a realistic take on human interaction with another intelligent species.
After the initial awe of first contact, humanity just went back to being hateful and callous. The best kinds of SF are ones that have a human introspection, and this one had BOATLOADS.
Also, Mechs armed to the teeth with alien weaponry, that turned humans into big gooey stains, immensely helped determine my positive judgement.

It`s funny, a lot of the words they used to describe the movie are exactly the ones I used. This movie is really unique. Go see it if you haven`t.

The way I felt watching this movie was similar to the way I felt playing Half-Life for the first time in 1998.

It really was a great movie. Great effects, good casting, considering they probably spent all their money on the effects.

The only complaint I have is that I was never able to connect with Sharlto Copley`s character, so I was never emotionally drawn in. But that`s just nit-picking really. Really the must see of the summer!

Movie sucked, message was badly executed, characters were way over the top, and most of it made no sense if you think about what happened. Seems like they wanted to convey a message about displaced refugees in foreign lands without actually making a movie about the real situations in the world. My guess is because they dont think anyone would watch that.
