why do people get amazed at things that only require practice?

he`s good, but nothing i don`t see almost every day (I work in a music shop)

there`s PLENTY of people that can do this, and the way they do it is practice, nothing more.

ask any guys that can play like this, they`ll tell you they spent A LOT of time banging on that git-box.

you are not born this way.

that said, I gave this 5/5 because i play guitar and i enjoy listening to a good player (as opposed to a bunch of kids that can only play powerchords)

How sad I feel for you, having nothing in life to be amazed by. Every `amazing` thing in human history, whether it be music, art, literature....ANYTHING...requires practice. Lots and lots of practice. Taking you at your word, I can only assume that you sit around your music shop all day, listening to lots of un-amazing musicians, then switch on your MP3 player and listen to even more un-amazing musicians.

You also claim to see talent of this caliber almost every day at your music shop. I would like to hang out at your music shop, because it would be cool to see all of the other world-class guitar players who must hang out there. I`m sure it is quite a sight to see Les Paul, Tommy Emmanuel, Steve Vai and all of the rest of them just sitting around NOT being amazing.

Also, Doyle Dykes is not simply a `good` player. He is a `great` player. I should think that someone who works in a music shop (especially a guitarist like yourself) would know the difference.

But then again, since you can`t distinguish `amazing` from merely `pedestrian,` I guess I can understand why.

By the way, I do respect your opinion. I just don`t happen to share it.
