Fantastic Upload!
A great and lively debate.
The people who believe will keep on believing, there is nothing anyone can say to change their minds.
The skeptics will just keep on decrying "fake" and "hoax". There is nothing anyone can say to change their minds.

A UFO could crash land in Michael Shermers front yard and I`m sure he would come up with a "perfectly rational scientific explanation" for why there is an 8 legged 4 eyed "who-za-what-it" eating his daisies.

Until someone finds a live alien willing to go on Larry King Live and them take him for a ride (with CNN’s camera team in tow) live on TV will people be able to be convinced.

Personally, I’m on the fence.
Neither side can come up with enough evidence either for OR against.

there is no question about if UFOs exist.
the question is: who is driving?

it is quite foolish and pessimistic to believe we are alone and/or that we are the most technologically-advanced culture in the universe.

wouldn`t you expect that a civilization thousands, if not millions, of years older than ours would likely have methods of travel we can`t even dream of yet?

why the cover-up?
well i have a guess..
technology acquired from ET vehicles could reshape our entire world; oil industry, auto industry, defense industry, as well as many others would likely become obsolete if the technology was made public. this is obviously rather undesirable for those whose goal is profit.
given how entangled big business and government are, is this not plausible?

It`s a religious cliche to deny the probability of life elswhere in our galaxy. It follows darwins model that a single lifeform in a thriving ecosystem would develop higher functions and technology. What such a lifeform would be like or how it would use technology is simply beyond anticipation, let alone prediction. If communication was possible I believe that it would be impossible to suppress, so I conclude that these UFOs are not of alien origin. And if they are, they will keep well away from this crazy place for a long time yet.
