I know this is kind of a weird concept but anything over ~2,600 feet and you land at the same speed every time. It`s ~120 mph give or take your personal configuration. It`s like two cars hitting head on at 60 mph... and people survive that surprisingly often. When you take into account airbags and seat belts and such you can understand why. Had that been pure ground with no shoot I`m sure he would be dead, but with two shoots open, going about 70 mph into bushes that will act as a cushion. That`s a mess you up hard crash, but that`s not usually fatal speed.

Just saying miracle, probably not. The man had physics on his side.
