Pacific

The Pacific Ocean is the largest of the Earth's oceans. Its name is derived from the Latin name Mare Pacificum, "peaceful sea", named by the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. It covers 46% of the earths water surface (65.3 million sqm) and about 32% of its total surface area, making it larger than all of the Earth's land area combined.

borders and dividing lines are man-made; they do not exist.
there is ONE large body of water covering most of Earth`s surface.

Well, anoniem IS right, there are no lines across the bodies of water on this planet.

However, the term "ocean" is also man-made, and as artificial as the non-existent boundaries we give them. Animals don`t see the lines we put down. They also don`t see "oceans." All they see is "Here be water you can`t drink."

Unmannedperson: well actually the names are not just "made up"...Ocean means it`s a body of water which is not inland and has no surrounding land. Usually a huge body of water gets a name "ocean" if it`s so large you cannot see the ending of it on ground, making it appear as an ocean.

But yes, the lines are mostly made up, but they also have some geological meaning behind them. To a stupid animal they might seem just imaginary lines on water, but they actually have a function.

It`s like saying, countries borders are just in peoples heads and they are not "real". Well, I will guarantee you that if you cross this "imaginary border" in my country with my military uniform, I would get shot or captured on sight...so they too have a REAL function behind them, and very often a real geological/historical reason. Sure if you kill ALL people in the world, the borders would mean literally nothing.

Anoniem, where do you live? Over the ground I suppose because delimitation of countries and cities are man made also.

I get the point you want to make but it`s actually pretty retarded because no one ever said or pretended that designated oceans are not connected to eachother.

So where do you go to your next vacation?... Oh yeah.. to a continent. You can`t see the lines that separate the countries.... pff... stupid humans.
