Young Woman Shot and Killed by Iranian P...

Here`s what the youtube info stated "A young woman who was standing aside with her father watching the protests was shot by a basij member hiding on the rooftop of a civilian house. He had clear shot at the girl and could not miss her. However, he aimed straight her heart. I am a doctor, so I rushed to try to save her. But the impact of the gunshot was so fierce that the bullet had blasted inside the victim`s chest, and she died in less than 2 minutes. The protests were going on about 1 kilometers away in the main street and some of the protesting crowd were running from tear gass used among them, towards Salehi St."

People are calling her "Neda" which means "the voice" in Farsi. As I am writing this, the protesters have calmed down but they are pissed off at what happened and turning her into a symbol.

hopefully a follow up video will be posted of what the protesters do to the bastard who did this to this poor girl. And hopefully they will have less mercy than they did with that motorcycle cop. I can definitely see this event opening up a whole new can of worms in the rioting. Now they have a martyr.

R.I.P Neda, she was only 16 girl whom was brutually murdered in front of her father, all can I wish for is that her tragic death wont be meaningless.
P.S: She wasnt killed by police, she was killed by the basij (islamic militia).

The person who shot her is a complete faceless coward. They think this will scare people but most likely will just get people more angry. I really feel sorry for her, I really do, I can`t imagine what is going though her mind the moment she got shot. I just hope she did not feel much pain. This is what hard line Islamic do, they kill their own people if they disagrees.

Thank you for posting the video, more people needs to see the truth!

Just a quick question.

How do people know she was killed by the basij?

Because someone in the media heard someone else in the media say it was?

(EDIT: I heard on the BBC`s Newsnight that the "Basij accusation" came from an "online source" - British peeps can check it out here when it becomes available:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00ldvbf/Newsnight_23_06

_2009/ )

I mean, if a group of people desperately wanted to oust Ahmadinejad (spelling?) by causing a public uprising - you`d expect them to do things like this (shoot people in front of TV cameras)... and likewise, if Ahmadinejad wanted to stop a public uprising, and prove he didn`t rig the elections - showing he had nothing to hide, you`d expect him to try and ride the storm without giving the opposition any kind of moral foothold, surely?

And then theres the fact that even though it has been acknowledged, especially before the election and throughout the previous years, ahmadinejad has large public support - its not like he`s a dictator, barely clinging to power! So where are his supporters represented in our media outlets? nowhere it seems... all we see are the demonstrations in Tehran... nothing about the more rural areas... or any pro ahmadinejad demonstration (if there are any i guess)

(EDIT #2: Also on tonight`s BBC Newsnight, was the report that said that there were voting irregularities, but they weren`t significant enough to have changed the result - I guess this reports validity is somewhat under question given the circumstances though... but what do we know - were they worse than the voting irregularities in the 2000 and 2004 US general elections?)

I know I`ll get voted down for this, but I for one smell a fuckin huge rat - one on a similar scale to the 1953 Iranian coup d`etat (where, surprise surprise, a public uprising lead to the democratically elected leader being forced from office - the uprising then was initiated by the CIA and UK MI6... google "Operation Ajax" for more info).

Anyway, my heart genuinely goes out to Neda and her family - its a sad state of affairs which ever way you view it.

^i will try to answer some of your questions

First of all the basiq job is to maintain the morals of the islamic values, they are young men with weapons who are uneducated, uncivilized brutes that use deadly force to install fear in people and yeh they are the ones that usually deal with protesters and Neda`s death is not the first death by the hands of the basiq.( Iam talking throughtout the history of islamic republic of Iran)

Second of all you dont hear anything from Ahmandinajad`s supportes is because the current goverment doesnt want any country to know whats currently happening in Iran so they have put ban on all forms of media involving the protests, meaning this includes even the ones that are supportive of the current president, so the ones you currently see are mostly from amature journalists (normal people)who are trying to show the world the injustice that they feel happened/is happening to them.

Third of all the coup d`etat that you mentioned where the UK and USA meddled in Iran`s politics is because Mosadiq (the democratically elected president of that ime) wanted to take the Iranian oil form the ownership of the British companies and make it Iranian ownership. so basically when UK and USA insterfred at that time they had a clear reason (money) but now the situation is totally different where it has nothing to do UK or USA.

Edit:POOEYO people know he was a basiqi cuz if he wasnt one, the basiji will capture him, beat the shit out of him then hand him to proper officials to get hanged and basiq dont work for the president. The protests anti&pro Mosaddeq ones before the coup you speak of were all orcestraed by Roosevelt correct so was the coup by Roosevelt but the important difference is that The protests anti&pro (2 sides) It is true Ahmandinajad had supportes in the last election, but at the last election Mousavi wasnt running for the presidency, the thing about Mousavi is that he is also loved/liked by most(alot) of the people that voted for Ahmandinajad ohh yeh one more thing many people didn`t vote in the last election.

What a meaningless, tragic death.

I have so many things to say, but whats the point.

This video will most likely be removed by an admin for it`s graphic nature. It`s ok to die and know that people are being killed, but witnessing it is somehow worse than the crime itself.

@ alifeva1

Dude real life is nothing like the movies, movies tend to leave out the part where you vacate your bowls and drown in your own blood from a bullet wound to your chest, or where the bullet doesn`t cause a quick death and it takes a while to die...
They also don`t show the expression on someone`s face when they realize they are about to die and there is nothing that can be done to stop it..

This is a total tragedy a meaningless killing but it is my hope that this instills a sense of justice for the protesters knowing what they are doing is right. I hope it causes more people to join their movement and ultimately meaning that Neda`s death was not meaningless. And that the free thinking moderate people of Iran get the Iran they deserve, Their Iran.

F*** you guy saying this is a meaningless death. I do not apologize my language, f*** you. Think before you post something guys.

Her death, if it will indeed become a symbol for the Iranian people, "the voice", will be 99,99% more meaningful than any one of yours. If she is the symbol, they need a hero and a leader and they have the potential for a revolution.

I am going to wear a green piece of cloth today in honour.
