What happens when you hit the natural gas?

That`s good vs granite.
But how does it do vs deposits of iron or hard quartzite type minerals?
The earth is not made of granite all the way down.

How do they find a nozzle to withstand the heat of the flame?

^ Um, you might want to check your units there.. A typical light bulb uses 60 Watts of power, which is 60 Joules per second, so in 1 second you`ve used more than the entire planet`s geothermal energy capacity.

Not the Best idea.
Sorry, But that last thing Miners need is a freaking hose spewing some fire out, hotter than Lava!

Imagine the fucking catastrophe when the hose has a leak?!

There are estimated to be over 1600 zettajules of energy in the earths core(Ambient energy). There is over 4000 years of geothermic energy in the ambient energy, this isn`t even getting into the true core of the earth.

This technology is not for miners, it is for drilling small holes deep into the crust of the earth for geothermic energy plants.

^ what about the little holes that miners use to place explosives in to blast away large amounts of rock? this would make that job faster. mining as in the bulk work, no, but it can be used in mining.

So how exactly do you remove molten rock at the bottom of the drill hole once it is 500m plus deep? The hole is about the size of the nozzle, so where does the molten material get blown to?

^ kingdom come? i think it vaporizes it and it gets blown out as a gas, like if you were to put a garden hose in a very long pipe with a closed end the water would just flow up till it came out, being pushed by the new water coming out of the the hose.

^Indeed.

And the geothermic energy that there is:

13,000 zettajules of energy, and 2000 zettajules of ambient energy that can be tapped into with new technology. So yeah, lots of energy there.
