I`m guessing the giant flaming ball of whatever the fuck that was on the end of that bolt fucked up the trajectory just a LIL bit. Flaming arrows are Hollywood. that`s what really happens when an arrow or bolt is unbalanced. It flops to the ground with hardly any power.
