What`s with movie geeks always claiming that anything new is a rip-off of something else? It`s called storytelling, fuck-nut. Good-guy vs. bad-guy, you think the bad guy is winning, but the good-guy comes back and saves the day. Read The Odyssey. It`s thousands of years old. After that, shut the fuck up because everything you hold so sacred is a rip-off of Homer.

It`s not the plot devices that are used. It`s how well they`re used and whether the characters affected by them are likable and interesting. Both the new Star Trek and the original Star Wars have good storytelling and memorable characters, even if there are similar plot elements, and that`s all that really matters.

ah oh cares... hollywood is really having problems with creating something new .. so they take parts of other movies to make new ones... and also just look at all the reboots they,re doing , this is getting out of hand fast !! common a little imagination guys !

The first 5 minutes of Star Trek made my jaw drop, stunning shots with good scale. That was worth the price of admission alone and still why I love the cinema!
