Well no, the counting was done incorrectly, the pieces of tissue paper counted only slowed down the bullet enough for it to be stopped by the remainder. If you take the the last pieces off and repeat the experiment, the bullet would most likely pass through.

Japanese subtitles for Japanese speakers is for clarity of both the words they use and differences in regional dialects. Sometimes when words with obscure Kanji is used it is useful.
