At this point in history, having just a few ICBM`s and other nukes is as good a deterrent effect as having thousands. No one wants to fuck with a nuke armed country, because no one would willingly pay the terrible price of being on the recieving end of even just one blast.

So Obama gets a noble freebee in two ways: he looks humane instead of hawkish, and saves huge amounts of money from the military expenses of maintaining nukes.

It`s a good time for both. We can`t afford to keep the nukes, and Obama needs something to make him look better since he`s not able to just quit the wars, after all.

I don`t "believe" in Obama. I think he`s a good guy, but his hands are badly tied. Fuck with the real owners and rulers of America and you get shot like JFK. Obama`s no dummy, he`s got kids, and he can get some good shit done if he`s still alive. Don`t think he doesn`t know it. So sure he would love to do all the shit he says, but get real, it ain`t all gonna happen. Like ending the war, backing off the drug war, etc.... The prez is not the king, and all the real money and power doesn`t just roll over to him, it`s the other way around mostly. I wouldn`t be sad if all he manages to get done is say some good shit, basically play an important part in waking people up, and maybe help turning the tide for the better. We know there are alot of rich cunts getting richer by making things worse, and with a jackass like Bush in office there was little resistance or hope.

So good for Obama if he can get some good shit going like getting rid of all the nukes. It`s about fucking time.

that may be...but JKF was love by most american, i`m sure JFK knew something might happen to him but he insist on doing what`s right. I have zero hope of obama doing anything other then bringing this country down even more then it already is, the time of prosper is over it`s time to hunker down and prepare for self-reliance the government have already shown the only interest they have in mind are self-interest.

^^ I agree with exploder on this one. These days, especially in the US, the leaders are simply there to take the flack those who are really pulling the strings. Because our political leaders are bound down and manipulated even before they get into office, there`s nothing that they can do that isn`t supported by their "financers".

i really disagree.. i don`t think obama is `a good guy`. he was chosen by the powers that be to be a suitable president. dont let the smile fool you, he`s another self serving bold faced liar. he is nothing more then a steward. lol.. no different then bush hes just following orders. look past the person and look at what his administration is doing........ like. he`s going along with all the globalism plans, hes not legalising buds (and not giving a reason), hes not doing shit all but wasting money and lying lol. his administration wants to make it manditory to serve 3 months in the military if you are between 18 and 25.

^ As far as I can tell, you have impossible expectations. In order to be a good guy, a prez must basically beg to get shot, according to your standards. What part of "interfere with billions in profits" = "dead like JFK" don`t you get? Who exactly do you propose this fucking superman is? Please get him to run, because we desperately need him.

Meanwhile back on planet Earth, we have Obama now. I think he knows how nearly completely his hands are tied. And I think he knows that the only hope we have of fighting the forces of corporate facism are applied intelligence, thoughtfullness, and some sound political philosophy. Check out his full speech in Prague if you haven`t. This might seem like hot air and fancy dreams to us jaded North Americans, but it`s true stuff.

I think Obama is a good guy, even if he actually can`t do all OUR work for us. We have to take it back ourselves. Us, the people.

And on some specific points:

- You bet he wants to legalize, he told the truth in earlier interviews and speeches, but the drug cartels (DEA, DHS, CIA, FBI, and police/prison industries) will fucking whack him if he fucks with their turf.

- Tell us again with a straight face that he "wants to make it manditory to serve 3 months in the military...". He wants mandatory "public service", and he may be right that it would help a lot of young people learn something. If that`s military, it still might not hurt them.

- "no different then bush". Why do I even bother responding?
