so now we make one with 24 barrels, and spins 4 times faster....shooting 4 times faster... The minigun is uber outdated.

also alot of people don`t know it`s electrically fired

no firing pin

::edit:: weird the guy at a gun show I went to years ago who was fanatical about these guns told me that, so I assumed I wasn`t misinformed. I stand corrected, there IS in fact a firing pin.

^^Are you sure that you aren`t mistaken with a different variant?

Because this one clearly had striker assemblies that were cocked during the chambering and released at the end of the rotation of their bolts.

They look and seem to function on the exact same principles as a striker assembly from a Bushmaster M242 chaingun.

s3r4ph: You sure this isn`t electrically rotated and mechanically fired? I know there are electrical firing systems out there, but this one obviously has some sort of striking mechanism...

Just wiki`d it... the GAU 17/A has a firing pin.
