The ocean is incredible. I would`ve loved to become a marine biologist... but I became an actor... maybe I`ll play one some day.

Decreasing or stopping population increase rate of humans would solve a lot of problems. Imagine if you didn`t have 250,000 people extra per day to feed, cloth, or use natural resources. I`m sure going "green" helps but the root of the big problem is overpopulation.

I don`t think exploring anything will help humanity in the long run, we need to find a balance with what we have already, then improve. Many people have done figures to show our food supply rate vs. our population calorie needs per day. The figures show that right now we could take care of 12 billion people with the amount of food we produce. Now you mix in the data from population growth and you will see that earth will hit 12 billion at it`s current trend in aprox. 30-40 years.

What she says about deforestation ect....We need to legalize hemp. This will drastically decrease deforestation since it`s wayyyyyyyyy cheaper for most companies and it will also save land space as the plants usage product doubles what we currently use today. Not to smoke of course...carbon emissions lol.

OI discourage the exploration of the ocean as I see how the space program turned that into a garbage pile already.

If you want to help save the oceans and earth dont buy crap thats packaged in plastic for a start, this includes the most common form of plastic waste such as bottled drinks and fast food.

Population problems are the Earthest greatest enemy at the moment as tokentiki pointed out. Geologists estimate that our global population will top out at around 9.5 billion. With only around 10% of that being MEDC`s (more economically developed countries). But token altough there may be around 250, 000 new mouths to feed per day. Remember that just 10% of the Earth`s population uses more than 80% of the resources. It is us with the high standards of living that require so much. The Earth would only be able to sustain 7oo million people if everyone on Earth had the same standard of living as America. And we have already nearly 7 billion aspiring to such standards.

The Earth is dying more rapidly than any video on spikedhumor has ever pointed out, while Al Gore pointed out climate aspects in his movie and inconvenient truth, the fact that humans are so wasteful and have yet to realise the full seriousness of the situation is disgraceful.

I remeber watching a video of a physicist can`t remember his name here on spikedhumor, (perhaps someone will dig up the video) And they have a way of catergorising what they think space civilizations are. the first type are those who have free themselves of their planets gravity boundry and are able to efficeintly create energy supplies that will last indefinetly, though their technology may still be primitive, they are able to traverse some regions of space. The other two were quite intense and involved colonising other planets etc. The man then said that Earth has not reached any of these stages, but is at the tipping point. This is where either we come together as a race and begin to address problems and realise that there is so much more than our petty quarrels, and together work towards finding renewable enegry resources namely the sun. We will either succeed in this and begin to travel out from our own planet, or we will fail and cause our own destruction and perhaps the death of our own planet.

And unfortunately, it would appear that we are more than heading into the path of destruction. Even if we stopped all green house emissions today, we would only see improvements in the levels in 100 years time, if we were to let the forests frow back, it would take 1000`s of years to to gain a few miles. We have damaged our planet so bad that we`re we to start a new today, not even in our lifetimes will we see things get better.

By the looks of it we were never meant to become pioneers of space, or understand why we are here, we have doomed ourselves to being stuck on this spit of sand in an infinite sea.

It will take a miracle to fix this, call my a downie, a pessimist. But it is the truth, we have destroyed our birth mother in our own blind glory and profit driven madness.

But I still hope...

We`re overdue for an eruption at Yellowstone, Fiji, St. Helens and a few other volcanic peaks. We`re overdue for the magnetic pole shift - which apparently causes 2-300mph winds globally and creates super storms like the crap we saw in The Day After Tomorrow.

The only thing that I do believe will happen when the poles shift is that it triggers a cooling effect due to the shift in magnetic alignment and the way Earth will react to it.

@ SantaAndFriends
I believe the name of the physicist you mentioned in your topic is Michio Kaku. He is a theoretical physicist and in my opinion is one of the most interesting people around. Finally, but certainly not least, in relation to the lady of this video:
