i`ve always wondered about disposable packaging. it seems so wasteful to me. every candy wrapper, cereal box, meat tray, bottle, snack box, it just preserves a little bit of food and then all of it gets thrown away. before packaging existed ppl used durable resuable containers. and not only are there the immediate packaging outside of perishables, but what about the plastic bags we use to carry it home, or the paper boxes with plastic ties and tape to move it from the factory to the distributer, and then the distributer to the retailer? if the materials could be switched to something reusable or recyclable, it would reduce the amount of garbage.

also, i`ve seen in other countries where you have to go to the garbage man instead of the garbage man going to you. they drive down the street and you have to come out and hand them the garbage. you also have to separate all your garbage into organics, glass, paper, and plastics. sometimes the garbage man will check your bags and if he finds they`re not sorted they can ticket you. i don`t think a system like that would ever work in the US. i don`t know how effective that system is with reducing garbage or improving recycling either.

^^ as you could see there wasnt much left of the bird when they took the pic. and i wouldnt want what is inside them.


it is becoming more of a harsh reality when you keep watching this stuff and know that we are all fucking up the world. but i guess becuase it is out of sight. it is out of mind and if you cant see it it doesnt exsist...

i guess that is the great thing about the new world is that though the planet is big media and media shearing make it small and we get to see the ramifacations of what we do here some where eals.

Yeah, we got problems in this world. NO SHIT, SHERLOCK!!! But it seems all you guys ever do is sit around listening to all the crap that is wrong with the world and NEVER paying attention to that which is wonderful and magnificent. Turn off your damn computers and TV`s for a while, get off your fucking asses, and check out some of the world and nature for yourselves. There`s a of lot of it out there that is doing just fine!!

You don`t want to have children? Fine!! We don`t need you to be passing on your fucked up versions of reality onto everyone else...Hollywood and Al Gore do plenty of that all by themselves. Me? I`ve only been blessed with one child to teach what a beautiful planet we live on, despite the ongoing problems that we`ve always had to deal with.

For a long time I lived in a place where there was NO garbage pickup. What did I do? I burned my trash. Then I used the ashes as fertilizer for my garden. It worked really well.

Now I live in a place where you cannot burn your trash, and let me tell you...I never realized how much trash people actually produce until I had to go down to the city dump and talk to some people. It really amazes me.
