Flying Car Takes High Road To Timbuktu

A flying car devised by a British inventor and a team of engineers took off from London on Wednesday on an epic journey to Timbuktu, Mali, in West Africa -- a trip they hope will prove the fantasy has become reality.

i think 70...i think not terribly fast but with a parachute you can`t go that fast and have it still function like a parachute anyway.

Ah but the Delorean represents the flying cars of the time that the doc went to . The time machine never needed to fly, it did so it could blend into the time they where gonna be hanging in in back to the future 2. right? the flying cars of the future where they nuclear?

Sigh...I was very intreagued when I read the title of this article and even more so when I saw the Back to the Future reference...only to be dissapointed by a car touting a large fan and parachute... Sweeeeet, now all of us desert dwellers can fly a few feet of the ground at a slow speed proving to be just slightly above absolutely useless.

thats great but all this stuff still runs on gasoline. Show me a flying jet car or whatever (similar to the other vid as well) and have it run on a new fuel source, and that will be the deciding factor for me. Air cars are cool, but not when gas is going to be so high.

I dont know about you guys, but i`m pretty sure i`ve seen this type of "flying car" before...

it`s called a PPC, or Powered ParaChute, here is a website with infos on this type of flying buggy:

and it`s been invented for about 5-6 years if i`m correct.
