I don`t think there`s much of a relation to Tesla in this technology. And this isn`t new technology either. My sonic toothbrush, that I bought 7 years ago, charged using magnetic induction.

Tesla wanted to power devices by sending electricity through the air using massive electrical coils, not via magnetic induction.

Now they just need to put those all over the roads, and make magnetic induction automobiles.

I might call it a "Windows and the egg" problem. The thing is how many products are actually compatible with this? How many companies are going to convert their HARDWARE (key word) to adapt to the change?

The solution is simple, the mass effect is incredible.

The guy is wrong about the water though! H2O is an excellent insulator, what it makes a conductor are diluted contaminations like minerals, salts and others!

These guys are OK. The real joke is the idiots trying to do wireless power with lasers. Slashdot had a story about that. Stay away from that worthless junk.

About damn time. First I saw of this was at CES in 2003 called the splashpad. Never went on sale :p.

But this tech has been available for years to the consumer, but not where you would think. Most electric toothbrushes have had this tech as a means for recharging because of the sealed components (water proof) like demo`d above.

Didn`t Intel make that wireless desk lamp with this technology but on a proper scale like a few years ago? And yeah, tooth brushes have been doing this for a looooong time.

yes this type of technology was invented years ago but it was never put into practice because of its inefficiency in transfering energy. its like throwing a bunch of tennis ball at a person and expecting him to catch everything.
