Parking Dispute Leads to Chain Saw Attac...

SCRANTON, Pa. — A Pennsylvania man faces up to 37 years in prison now that he's been convicted of tearing open a neighbor's door with a chain saw in a fit of anger over parking.

Authorities said 34-year-old Robert Kane began sawing through the front door of Jamie Zaleski's apartment in Scranton last March while Zaleski and several friends ran out the back.

Kane was angry because a friend of Zaleski's parked in front of his house. Police say Zaleski heard a knock at the door, asked who it was, and Kane responded, "Your worst (expletive) nightmare. Open the door or I'll cut it down."

He then cut a gash in the door with a chain saw, authorities said.

The defense said Zaleski never actually saw Kane wielding the saw. But a witness testified that Kane bragged about the incident, and the jury convicted Kane on Tuesday of attempted burglary, terroristic threats and other charges. A sentencing date wasn't immediately set.

ter·ror·ism

–noun
1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes.

I`d say that what he did was "Terrorism" (maybe not the political part but shut up). I`d be pretty terrified if someone came to my door with a chainsaw.

It`s amazing to me how many people feel they own the public parking spaces in front of their homes. I had 2 friends get their cars vandalized because they parked in front of someone`s home when going to a party at a friends house. They sorta forgot that the neighbors had mentioned not wanting anyone parking in front of their place and paid a fucked up price for doing so.

The United States has defined terrorism under the Federal Criminal Code. Chapter 113B of Part I of Title 18 of the United States Code defines terrorism and lists the crimes associated with terrorism.[24] In Section 2331 of Chapter 113b, terrorism is defined as:

…activities that involve violent… or life-threatening acts… that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State and… appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and… (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States… [or]… (C) occur primarily outside the territorial jurisdiction of the United States…"

terrorist threats? seriously?

someone has to put a stop to this shit?
how would one go about that? seriously.
who would we talk to? how do we let the idiots on top know that we don`t want petty things to be labeled as terrorist acts?

This deserves a fine, restitution for the dude`s door, probation, and anger management counseling. Nothing more.

We need some level headed people to step forward. The government is going too far. These are little signs of it, and we won`t know the full extent of the implications until the shit hits the fan.
