I`m more of a hockey person myself, but I would have to give the toughest sport award to rugby. That sport looks tough as hell.

I think the worse injuries probably come from rodeo, but MMA is the toughest IMO

Meh, it`s hard to compare a team sport with a point-driven score against MMA or boxing; I mean, if Rugby`s goal was to have one team fight the other team into submission; that is, a 15 on 15 MMA fight, you might be able to say which is tougher or not. As soon as you include sports in which the goal is to beat the other person physically into submission, and not just have that as a byproduct of attempts to score trys or touchdowns, the question is apples and oranges.

Ask if boxing or MMA is tougher, maybe, or if Rugby is tougher than football, and that`s apples to apples.

Rugby, by the way, far tougher than football. :P

First of all define "toughest" sport. Every sport can be physically dangerous in its own rite. Only Aussie Football and Rugby players don`t have official padding of some kind. They may wear some sort of head protection or knee pads but sports like hockey, foot ball, rodeo, boxing and mixed martial arts all use designated padding (not sure about rodeo) of some sort. As far as sustained long-term injuries are concerned, in rodeo these guys are in the hospital frequently, getting treated with major surgeries.
