I think he`ll commit suicide in the next couple of years. I mean it`s a pretty much proved fact that any person have a limited amount of awesomeness in them and when it runs out they blow their brains out or OD on various things.

Jim Carrey, like Jerry Lewis, is gonna be ignored and battered and (occasionally) villified. The simple fact is Jim Carrey is a damned good actor who could only get noticed by being zany.

Think about it people. For every million actors out there with a good dose of talent, ONE of them is noticed. And that ONE has a good 50/50 chance of being noticed because they have fantastic tits. Thereby, any male (heterosexual) actor has a ONE in 2 MILLION chance of making it. Best to make people remember you, by any means necessary. If it means making people laugh, by being generally entertaining, and by occasionally landing a role which does you justice (The Majestic, for example) then so goddamn be it.

The only reason we remember Harrison Ford is because Lucas took a shining to him in American Graffitti. The only reason we remember Jack Nicholson is because of a Shining of a different sort. But ... we don`t remember the guy who played Dave from 2001?! Or the Sherrif of Nottingham from the classic Erroll Flynn Robin Hood?

Luck, my friends.

Jim Carrey has it. You don`t. Get over it. Kudos to Jimmy. Kudos.
