Geez, US and UK have been spelling words differently for decades:
Aeroplane = Airplane
Arse = Ass
Cheque = Check
plough = plow
analyse = analyze (and a whole heap more words that replace S with Z
centre = center

The point is both ways of saying the word are correct. Assuming that they meant to say the british form of the word twat and not the american just dictates the arrogance that the british people so often portray as american.
