Cool video. Only thing is that the information must be a few years old because it`s not accurate anymore. Most modern golf balls are solid core, not wound rubber. Ever since the Titleist ProV1 it`s basically been the gold standard.

Good to see machine can`t do all the work and still need human to perform parts of it, then again, that must be some of the most boring jobs.

wait ! when they add the dimpled shell to the cores, how do they make sure its centered properly in the cavity ? Is the outer dimple shell done in two halves in two separate operations? Also, what are they gonna do about those three tiny dots that are the pin pricks which hold the ball up as it gets sprayed green/yellow? I guess the urethane just sorta spreads out over the ball.

Yes. it good to see that machines can do all that work. Machinese dont require a wage, food, holidays, breaks etc. And yes again factory work can be extremely boring.

They said it was injection molding. The balls are placed on a tray. The inside of the tray is an inverted version of the dimples (bumps I guess) on the golf ball and then plastic is injected so that it coats the core and creates dimples.

Like pressing your face into clay, drying the clay and then pouring cake mix into the depression your face made in the clay. Now you have a cake in the shape of your face. Now put a giant cookie core in the empty depression your face left in the clay, pour cake mix around it so that the empty space is filled and now you have a cake of your face with a delicious cookie core..... I think I`m going to make a cake now...
