Dawkins is way off (as usual) when he said that if people don`t follow everything in the OT, then therefore they`re picking and choosing parts of the Bible with no basis. But as a Christian, I don`t abstain from pork even through pork is prohibited in the OT. No Christian is "picking and choosing" as Dawkins ignorantly claims, when they don`t do everything outlined in the OT, nor is this somehow an inconsistency on God`s part. Dawkins should ask Jews that question if he`s so concerned why religious people "don`t get their morals from the Bible" when they don`t do everything outlined in the OT.

BTW, it`s not due to any "modern" interpretation as Dawkins would like us to believe because Christians have been eating pork for thousands of years.

seems that way but ive never watched "The agenda" before. But if you wanted to promote Dawkins do you think asking logical and reasonable questions would him look better then say... having a debate between an evangelist screaming "but god is great because its god!!!" ?

The Bible is incredibly immoral by modern standards, & if your gona say that only the Old testament is questionable, then why is it still included? Why did god allow his book to be `questionable` in the first place? Did he say "shit, that`s not right, now they`re stoning each other. Fuck it, i`ll get someone to fix that up some other time"??

Here`s something for you to think about. You believe God Loves everyone. You believe he is forgiving. You believe he is compassionate... more so than any human, right?
Hell is the biggest possible contradiction to that possible. God is gona send you to an eternity, not 6,000,000,000,000,000 years, but a never ending ETERNITY of torture & suffering - if you don`t follow him. That is horrific & deeeeply disturbing. If God is exists, than he is one sadistic sick puppy!
I wouldn`t wish that on Hitler! does that mean I`m more loving & forgiving than god? Hell was obviously included in the bible fairytale to scare people into line - and thats it!

Im not religous and Im not athiest, I believe there are positive and negative forces at play in our world and the universe and some may put a label on it and call it God Vs Satan.

I never take things on face value, Dawkins comes accross as very charming, well spoken, convincing and seductive, the fact that he seems to wish to point a political agenda for athiests concerns me as this could be the workings of what you may label as Satans plan.

Lets not forget nearly all of the worst leaders of all time were athiests e.g. some recent ones : Mao, Pol Pot, Hilter, Stalin, and many more that are responsible for murder of hundreds of millions of people. Come to think of it I think Bush is really an athiest!

Like was said, Hitler was NOT an athiest. And even if Stalin was, the difference is that nothing he did was "in the name of" atheism. That just happened to be what he believed. But the millions of relifious persecuters throughout history did many of their attrocities "in the name of God" as their excuse to get away with pretty much anything they wanted. That`s a BIG difference.
And "nearly all the worst leaders". Are you kidding me?? Mao, pot pot, and stalin were not responsible for "hundreds of millions" of deaths either.

REligion, and religious crusades have DIRECTLY been responsible for more horrible, nightmarish crimes and death than anything else in this world COMBINED. THAT is a fact, do some more research man. Just look up the most well known, the Crusades, to start off. and THEN stand here and say that "Nearly all the worst leaders" were athiest.

Hitler? Not religious? Then why did some of his specialist troops wear buckles with "God With Us" engraved apon them as part of their uniform? Why do you think he was trying to make a master race and `cleanse` people, especially the Jewish people?

That`s always the thing, and as vyrtualdogg said, athiests don`t go around and do things "in the name of athiesm", we do things based on a moral viewpoint, through logic or sometimes a lack of it if someone is deranged, through primal instinct, but never in the name of athiesm, or even agnosticism.

I must say, to start with Dawkin`s came across as not entirely persuasive, he was stopping and starting, and I was worried that he was losing his touch, but when the argument of morals hit the questions, you could see and hear him really start rolling, and his points were frankly, flawless.

^duck1980 Although Hilter mentioned a creator and God in his some of his speeches he basically abandoned religion.

What kind of person can stare at the universe and think they have the intellect and understanding to say there either is or is no God or creator! to do so would be just plain ignorant.

The reason there are no athiests getting it together to sort things out is because they are mostly self serving,self centered, selfish, arrogant,ignorant people who like to bitch about others but dont get of their asses to do something positive themselves.

Dont get me wrong I know religious leaders can be stupid and destructive but the athiest leaders take the cake.
