And not only should you have the absolute right to do whatever you want with your own body, you should have the absolute right to do whatever you want with anybody else`s body so long as they`re informed, consenting, and nobody gets hurt (and if they do get hurt, it`s only because they like it rough!)

I could go buy an armload of cleaning products right now, take them home, drink them, smoke them or shoot them up if that`s what thrills me. It`s stupid as hell, more stupid than any illegal drug out there, but it`s not illegal. Meth should be no more illegal and pot certainly shouldn`t be regulated at all. Hell, you should be able to grow pot in your window-box and give bouquets of it out on Valentine`s Day.

If someone is soooo stupid enough to fill their brain with something like meth, and do it so much their brain turns to pus, let them live it up. Sell it at frickin Wal-Mart, right next to the shrooms Doug is talking about. Just tax it all, so that there`s money for social services to take the kids away when they`re running around in filthy diapers, eating cat-food off the floor, and need to be adopted by those nice yuppie lesbians who are 100 times better parents than most of the Nascar trailer trash out there.

Klavklav you have GOT to be a methhead to say those things. I dont want toothless ass dirty methheads all over the fuckin place. I don`t even want to see them... You`re kidding right? We would have such a paranoid society, not just the metheads but nonmethheads constantly watching out for methheads. I have never seen an upstanding methhead... Ever.

^You probably have and just didn`t realize it. Besides, there are pretty clear examples internationally of the effects of legalizing "controlled substances." Generally, it doesn`t lead to more people using drugs (You do get a large number of people who try it a few times, but you also see a significant decline in regular users).

It eliminates a major source of income for organized crime (gangs are primarily concerned with trafficking drugs). The government is able to control (to a great extent) who gets their hands on it. And it becomes a whole lot easier for someone who is addicted to receive treatment and get off the stuff. Plus, it has a positive effect on the economy, because someone has to grow it, manufacture it, package it, market it, and sell it. More jobs, cheaper prices, better economy.

^just because something is legal doesn`t mean everyone`s going to try it. the fact that it`s against the law isn`t the reason there are only so many meth addicts, it`s because there is only a small group of people who think (or thought, before they got addicted) that meth was a drug they could handle. do you accually think if they legalized everything that people would be like "sweet now i can shoot up heroine with no worries!" I`m so glad i live in Canada, where i won`t get arrested for having a 1/2ounce on me and i can walk down any street in my town smoking a joint with no worries. O`Canabis

So lets also cut the shit, and say it out loud:

DRUGS ARE ILLIGAL TO KEEP THE PRICE UP, AND MAKE MONEY

No, it`s not because they are fun. It`s because the wrong rich fuckers are making a fucking killing at policing and selling drugs. Once again, we have a classic failure of criminality and policing as a mechanism for solving societal problems. Erect mechanisms of violence, and it gets violent. The people with guns use them to their own advantage. It shouldn`t take a PhD to see that math my friends.

Laws and punishment NEVER replace personal responsability.

We have 2 problems : a dangerous world, and stupid people.

The solutions are : protection (laws) and/or education.

Choose protection, and the system you build to protect us will hurt us much more.

Choose education, and we all get smarter.

Drugs can be a terrible deadly nightmare. The only defense that will ever truly protect us is our own wisdom, our own intelligence, and our own intimate safeguarding of each other, friend to friend.

i personally don`t think pot should be illegal, and believe that if it regulated properly that it can become quite benefical to the economy.

Don`t agree?Look at Amsterdam (Im going there next month to find out for myself anyway).

However drugs such as meth and heroin SHOULD be illegal.Drugs like that destroy lives, help spread AIDS and fuck the world up leading to more crime. If you believe that meth should be legal then watch the fucking news or something and see how fucked up people on that shit are.

Marky Mark Prince of Pot FTW!!

klavlav, you obv do not understand how a child`s brain works. If you legalized drugs like meth or anything that is mildly addictive, the big corporations would find a way for those 15 year olds to buy that meth in walmart. Just have Justin Timberlake smoke it in a commercial and you got a whole generation of meth-heads in less the a week.
Im all for legalizing soft drugs such as marijuana, as long as they weren`t advertised, but hard, synthetic drugs should stay the fuck illegal!

the drug war CREATES the necessity for a black market for drugs. without all the laws banning them, drugs would be much more available and cost much less, decreasing the competition between dealers as well as greatly decreasing violence.

if the people who are against drugs actually took time to read the TRUTH about drugs, i believe they would give up their act.

It`s not a question of price, you cynical dumbass, it`s a question for health and civic concerns. You can`t trust a weak person not OD-ing on drugs just like you can`t trust a person doing drugs inside their home and not going out and attacking others because all of the sudden they look like man eating aliens.

If people were left to do whatever they pleased soon you`d have them all carrying guns and shooting themselves over road rage and incorrect change at a shop.

And speaking of health, if you make every drugs legal, you weaken the healthcare system because all of the "healthy" money makers don`t want to pay for drug addictions or anything else they deem "self-inflicted".

I`m more of a socialist than a capitalist and that`s the beauty of fucking freedom to try to please everybody.

I say try legalizing marijuana and see where it goes from there... hold off a decade or two before we approach the more serious drugs. If everything gets legalized at once, and we see some sort of pandemic of heroin/meth addiction... then the NeoCons would swing back into office and reinstate the DEA with more rigor than ever... and they`ll come after Marijuana in the process.

Show that Marijuana legalization can actually reduce problems with more serious drugs, and we`ll be golden. Vote Obama.

I agree with klavlav, except the fact that ALL drugs should be legal... i mean you said meth, meth is pretty hardcore, what you prob don`t realize is that retards go sell that shit to young kids. I just finished high school, I`ve seen coke and a lot of shit, i don`t care who does it and who doesn`t, but when they go sell it to kids that have no idea what it does to them, it`s pretty sick. Last week there was a drug search at a Primary School, age 4 to eleven or twelve, RCMP found crack pipes... pretty scary man. I don`t think that letting everyone run around with meth will help anyone.
