Talent? Shes chinese, 100% guarantee that she was the second (illegal) child in a family that officially only had one, so since the first one was already getting drilled on how to become an Olympic gymnast, she got stuck with the only other thing they can drill besides math, piano.

Yes, fine, I recognize the natural talent. There would have to be some for this to even be possible. HOWEVER, no one, and I mean no one plays this well without endless hours of practice.

Her childhood is being robbed from her. This isnt something she enjoys, watch her face. Its dead. Her upbringing would probably make most of you squeemish.

Beautiful performance. She has a masterful touch.

Beautiful phrasing and amazing skill for any age.

I agree with neon though. An agonizing amount of practice must have gone into the aquisition of such a level of performance. I don`t care how much of a genius a child is. No skill or status is more valuable than the simple snotty nosed,laughing, bickering, cartwheelilng childhood that most children enjoy.
There is a guy here in Korea at my local pool who is grooming his son for the 2012 olympics and the kid who is about 14yo is a great swimming but in six months i`ve never seen him smile. Every other kid who goes to the pool scream and shout and splash around but this kid looks like a zombie and his `ambitious` father looks like a total asshole.
Sure we are tickled and impressed by child prodigy but i think it blinds us to what the kid themself needs.

Guys, for f*cks sake, stop assuming she had a horrible upbringing just because she is talented! Jeez, talk about sterotyping.

None of us know what her childhood is like, but after teaching several hundred asian children, almost all of whom can play the piano or violin yet who also all have happy, normal lives, I see nothing here but a great talent.
